A Spur of the Moment Decision

Eric and I were driving down the mountain the other day, wondering “What are we going to do for Christmas?”

Originally, Dandy was going to be our Christmas pony as he was supposed to arrive around the 23rd. Clearly that’s not going to happen. We were invited to Christmas dinner at our trainer’s but until then, all we had to entertain us was a 1,000 piece horse puzzle. It seemed like our first Christmas together was going to be a quiet night at home, watching the Eagles play on Christmas Eve and keeping Guinness from eating more Christmas.

So we were driving down the mountain after a great morning of skiing when one of us said, “We could drive to Minnesota and visit Dandy.”

And thus was our plan to drive 30 hours with a six month old puppy in the back seat, born. It’s going to be a good visit all around because not only will we get to see my family for Christmas, we’ll be able to spend a couple days out at MM Stables to see JD and Dandy! We are both super excited to see Dandy and I can’t wait to see JD. I can’t believe it’s been three months. That is too long.

And of course, I am really looking forward to seeing my family. It was really hard to think I wasn’t going to be there for Christmas.

I have even learned how to drive stick for the occasion.
